Current questions we're chatting through: Could you provide us with some context around how the Black and Jewish communities have come together historically?

47:58
What are some of the challenges facing Black and Jewish communities coming together to support each other today? (eg. have things changed from these historical examples?)

49:12
My grandfather continually talked about how Jews were not included as white— especially not Ay

50:55
Aryan, and anti-Semitism was as strong as anti-Black racism, as we saw at capitol too

52:37
Especially given this past year of racial protest and Anti-Black racism, we would love for you to address issues of racial prejudice within our own Jewish communities. How have your various intersectional identities impacted your experiences with justice initiatives within Jewish spaces?

53:02
Woohoo, Rabbi Joshua!

55:17
I love this story and “radical hospitality” a space to be your full self and belong.

55:19
Belonging.... Community

58:03
If you have any questions, please feel free to message them to me directly. We will try to get to as many questions as possible during the Q&A at the end of the program (and can present your question anonymously if you’d prefer).

59:17
What roles should white and white-passing Jews step into when exploring racial differences and cultural differences in our own communities?

01:01:40
Shonda = Yiddish word for disgrace!

01:02:30
*not to be confused with Shonda Rhimes :)

01:02:48
How has the role of women changed over time in the community and what shcanges has happened as women became Rabbis

01:04:08
Can you elaborate on this feeling of tension and where you might see space for being fully supportive of racial justice and at the same time supportive of Israel?Could you speak to how you see this playing out on campus as a religious leader and where are some opportunities to change this narrative?

01:04:23
where does BLM stand on BDS?

01:05:18
Alicia Garza is Jewish as Rabbi Sandra said

01:05:53
https://jwa.org/people/garza-alicia

01:10:47
What unique opportunities exist in the university context that allow for greater (or lesser) engagement across communities? What are some of the solutions for understanding, communication, compassion and allyship on an individual level? What resources would you encourage people to explore on a communal level?

01:13:36
If you have any questions, please feel free to message them to me directly. We will try to get to as many questions as possible during the Q&A at the end of the program (and can present your question anonymously if you’d prefer).

01:15:57
As someone who is in a lot of progressive circles, I often feel that expressing my Zionism invalidates me from being part of the coalition (it is something I must hide or be ashamed of). However, it is a big part of how I see my Judaism, as I know it is for others. Is this dynamic anti-semitism and/or a reason for me to investigate my beliefs?

01:16:24
OR How do Jews address issues of antisemitism without depriotizing issues of racism and anti-blackness?

01:20:10
Audience question: “I’m planning on creating a diversity & equity task force for my Hillel--How do I best go about this so I'm not tokenizing in any way?”

01:21:28
And professionals of color in general

01:23:48
