A value that always inspires me is the Jewish idea that if you save one life you save an entire universe, so even if the acts of advocacy are small changes and affect only 1 person then you still changed someone’s world and really make a difference (like Monica said :) )

That’s beautiful Natalie, thanks so much for sharing that inspiring idea.

Jewish people always seem to be very supportive of everyone else. When some were attacked during the most recent Hanukkah in an Orthodox Community in Rockland County, NY, was there this much outrage in society similar to what we see now?
Evan G
46:35
Yes, frustrating

Why has the cost of tuition increased at significantly greater rates than inflation?
Evan G
53:10
Are there actually any schools anywhere that provide tuition remimbursements?
Miriam Lipschutz (she/her/hers)
54:25
Great question, and there are a lot of reasons why this is. There has been large divestments in public higher education, increased costs associated with living (room and board), and many additional associated costs with going to school like textbooks and transportation

To answer the reimbursement question, some campuses during the current moment of COVID-19 provided reimbursements for housing and food, as well as dispersing aid through the CARES Act, as Monica detailed. However, this financial assistance is varied across campuses and was not guaranteed to be equitably spread out through student populations.

A quote that inspires me is “If you have come here to help me you are wasting your time, but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”
