My family has rice at so many Jewish holiday meals, we love love rice

01:06:05
I have a book from my childhood "Children of Many Lands" that explained "children in China greet each other by saying "Have you eaten rice?""

Last summer I met a lady in who started a restaurant in Corsicana, Texas (Northeast Texas near Dallas). It was a smoothie place, but she also made vegan versions of soul food. The restaurant might have closed down since then (sadlyđ˘). Iâm a little curious whether all vegan food meets the criteria for âkosherâ definitions. (Even though I myself am not vegan, but I like hearing their recipes, & Iâm not from a Jewish family either, but I love studying Hebrew & other Jewish things for history & spiritual reasons.) I know thereâs a variety of dietary âoptionsâ & paths out there, probably as represented by different people in the group. Any comments on how soul food &/or kosher food fits into other dietary paths (such as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, etc)? Sorry if the question is kinda long & confusing. Maybe if you have different people with different dietary paths coming together at the same table (like for Pesach, etc)?

Thank you for clarifying the acronym âAAPIâ as âAsian American Pacific Islanderâ. I just wasnât familiar with the acronym. â¤ď¸ I learned something new!

01:39:05
Thank you for mentioning the AAPI community. That means a lot to me as a half-Chinese Jew.
